About this Ministry

The story of finding God’s plan for my life began in the spring of 2001... 

My husband and I had felt a stirring in our spirits that something may be happening to my job and/or my company. We began praying that the Lord’s will would be done and felt excited about whatever new adventure He would have for us. At that time, I was a Director of Human Resources (HR) for a large computer company with responsibility for 7 Human Resources groups across the United States. I loved working there and had been there 6-1/2 years. It was a great position, but I was ready to move on if that’s what the Lord had in store. 

In July, 2001 the Consumer and Business divisions were combined eliminating the need for my position. I was given the opportunity to work in an HR position with another division, which would have meant more traveling, but didn’t feel the Lord was moving us in that direction. My only other option was to leave the company – which we felt was what we should do. So I did at the end of August. 

While on my last assignment in Hampton, Virginia, I was praying on August 26, 2001 and told the Lord “when I get back to Albuquerque, I am going to fast and pray and you will show me what I’m to do next.” As soon as I said that He said “Why do we have to wait until you get back to Albuquerque?” I was so startled – these words came in so loud and clear to me. I jumped up, grabbed a pen and notepad and He started talking. He said “Getting Your HOUSE in Order.” I said, “I know Lord, I have to get my house in order and then you’ll show me what you have next for me.” (I had numerous cleaning and organizing projects in my house and garage I thought He was referring to.) He said “No, Getting Your HOUSE in Order is WHAT you’ll be doing.” I said, “ok, what is this?” I thought maybe it was one of those closet-organizing businesses! He then started revealing more of the plan to me. He said “You will be helping women get their ‘houses’ (lives) in order and you will do this in your physical house.” He then went on to reveal the various parts of their lives I would be helping them with (using the letters of the word HOUSE): 

 

That’s all He showed me that day – it was just as if He had pulled a curtain back to show me a little glimpse of the entire plan. I was excited and thrilled but had numerous thoughts and questions racing through my mind. 

I finished my work in Hampton and came back after Labor Day to clean out my office in Albuquerque. I determined that Monday, September 10, 2001 would be the day I would fast and pray and the Lord would reveal more of His plan to me. On that day, I did exactly that and He showed me much more information and Bible verses for each “room” of the HOUSE. Late in that day I asked the Lord what I should charge for these services – was this a consulting business? Should I charge a fee for each “room” of the HOUSE? Should I charge the hourly rate I was making at my company? What should I do Lord? And His answer sent me reeling! He said, “Offerings.” I sat a moment in stunned silence. “Offerings?” I said. “Did I hear you right – offerings???!!!” I couldn’t believe it. I said, “Do you see our expenses – our house payment, other bills? You remember God, I’m no longer working and bringing in an income now.” But all He kept repeating was that one word “offerings.” I had worked our entire married life – over 22 years. I thought that’s the way you get money into your household – to eat, to buy clothes, to pay bills – you work. God was going to have to really change my mindset on this word from Him!! (He did and the story is found in Chapter 1 of the book "Finding God's Plan For Your Life" – “Hear from God”.) 

On Tuesday morning September 11 – I was shocked and saddened by the events I watched on TV. I sat mesmerized for 2-3 days, completely dismayed about what had happened to our country. It was at that point that I started doubting what I’d heard from God. The devil then started confirming my own doubts by questioning me about it all, telling me to just go get a job. Maybe I was crazy – this was not from God at all but I had conjured it up myself. For a couple weeks, I was in this limbo, this quagmire of not really believing what I’d heard from the Lord. I then felt that if this really was God’s plan, if He had really spoken to me, then I wanted confirmation from another human being. I told God “if you can make the universe and hold all the planets in place – you can confirm that I’ve really heard from you through one other human.” If a stranger just came up to me on the street or in the mall and said those 5 words, “Getting Your HOUSE in Order” that would have been enough. (Now at this point in time no one in the world knew anything about Getting Your HOUSE in Order, except I had shared tidbits of the revelation with my husband.) 

On Friday, September 21, 2001 I had to go back to my company to drop off my keys and I stopped to chat with my former coworkers. I said hi to a Christian friend who was also going to be leaving. When I entered his office he said he could immediately feel the wind of the Holy Spirit blowing. He asked how I’d been doing and I told Him the Lord had been showing me things but that now I was praying for confirmation of it all. He said as soon as he heard that word “confirmation” he knew he should start sharing with me what the Lord had already shown him I would be doing!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I was totally amazed and sat down to hear more. This friend started talking and we were in his office for 2 hours. I kept thinking I wanted to go and grab a pen and paper but also didn’t want to quench the flow of the Spirit. So I prayed to God to bring it all to my remembrance. 

He said to me that day, “The Lord says to you, ‘I have called you to a ministry for women. You will give them hope when all they have/are is hope-less. The minute they walk in your door to your house – they will feel hope-ful again. It will almost be a tangible “door.” Someone unknown to you will come to you soon who has lost all hope. The doctors, counselors, therapists have not been able to help her – she is hope-less. She will be the first of many women to come. At first, you’ll not know the ones who come, but later ones you know will also come. You will not do this ministry or business out of an office building. These women will come to your house. Some may not be able to pay the appropriate amount, but others will make up for those. Your cup will overflow – many women will come and you will at times feel overwhelmed. You will write a book about this information. Not a large book, but a small, practical book that won’t cost a lot of money. It will be published by a smaller (not well-known) publisher, who is now being prepared for this task. You were destined or prepared for this work when your mother and father conceived you. You will be “frightened” by the information some share with you – not physically frightened for your life, but will be amazed at the “burdens” some are carrying. Men will also buy the book – and they will not know why they are buying it – for their significant others – or for themselves (how to help their wives). These women – some will not come again and again, but only once or twice. Then you will “refer” them to others who can also help them, maybe here in town or in other cities or states. You will share practical information with them that will benefit their lives. Go home this afternoon and write, write, write. The wind of the Holy Spirit is rustling like wind in the leaves. You will be tired after writing. Next, go to the elders and deacons of your church and have them pray and anoint you with oil. Not a public thing, but private with them. Douglas should be there to see this, witness this and be there to pray - to seal this and protect you. Some pages of this book have already been written – but are now “hidden” away. You will find them again and know they should be in the book. For a time, you will struggle NOT to do this – look for other jobs, avenues. But the Lord says, ‘you cannot not do this. You will not be able to not do this.’ “ 

Wow!!! I couldn’t speak. Here all I had wanted was a stranger saying “Getting Your HOUSE in Order” and look how much more God gave!!! He surely is a God of “more than enough.” I did go home that afternoon and wrote many more pages, with information from the Lord specifically for each room of the HOUSE. I shared all that had happened that day with Douglas and he too was excited and amazed at what the Lord was doing. 

On Monday September 24, 2001 at 9 a.m. as I was praying and seeking the Lord He said, “get your pen, I have a Word for you today.” I wrote 12 pages over the next two hours and because I was writing so fast, my hand kept getting tired. I would have to stop and massage it every few pages. The Word of the Lord said “I will do a new work in you to prepare you for what I have for you to do – spiritually, physically, and emotionally. And this work will surprise and amaze you – blow you away. This work will be like nothing you can imagine in the natural, but will be so awesome and mind-boggling that you’ll have to say “only from God.” Douglas will also be involved – because I need the two of you together and in one accord to accomplish those things I have laid before you.” 

His Word to me that day went on and parts of it are shared in the chapters of the book, "Finding God's Plan For Your Life". From that point on, the Lord has given me specific words about this work and how to accomplish everything He had planned for me. I wrote all down and since then, many miracles and supernatural events have continued to confirm His words to me. Every part of this work that was revealed to me has come to pass. Many women have come to spend a day at my HOUSE, hearing specifically from God about their lives and how to change them for the better. They bring me offerings – some more and some less and some not at all. But it’s all happening just as He said. When women would discuss their spiritual walk, I would always ask them if they were born again and moving and walking in God’s plan for their life – their purpose here on earth. Most said they did not know what their plan or purpose was, even though many had been Christians for many years or even decades. I was so stunned and dismayed. 

In March 2002, I felt the Lord confirm to me that many of His children did not know their plan and purpose, and that He wanted me to use the steps I had gone through to find God’s plan for my life to help them find God’s plan for their life. He began leading me to write a book. It would be called “Getting your HOUSE in Order – A Story of Finding God’s Plan for your Life.” He showed me that for these women and many others of His children, their lives were like the maze of letters in a puzzle – that they couldn’t see clearly what He had planned for their lives or what was their purpose on earth. But He said that once they went through this information and digested it, that they would be able to see clearly God’s Plan that He had for them. 

Again – He used the letters of the word “HOUSE” to show the steps to take: 

When I finished those 5 chapters, I asked the Lord if that was the end and He said – “no – one more chapter called ‘God’s Plan.’ He said that God’s Plan was Jesus and that Jesus went through each of the 5 steps. He Heard from God – Jesus was always hearing from the Father. He Obeyed what He heard – He willingly laid down His life and went to the cross. He Used what He had – He used 5 loaves and 2 fish, He turned water into wine, He was always using what He had to accomplish His plan. He Spoke about the plan – He went about preaching, teaching and healing. And he Expected it all to come to pass. He had faith that every part of the plan would be accomplished. That last chapter contains the salvation message, because one must first come to KNOW God’s plan, Jesus, in order to find God’s plan for their life. 

As He was pouring this information into me, He was also showing me about our Christian WALK – that there are many Scriptures that discuss how we should WALK with Him daily (all taken from the New King James Version): 

The Lord then led me to transform the original story into a Study Guide that could be used in a seminar format, similar to the Monopoly Game®. We have a “Walkboard,” along with small shoes which we use to walk around as we go through each chapter of the Study Guide – it’s our Christian Walk! As we move through the Study Guide and around the Walkboard, we pick up various colored cards (just like in Monopoly): These cards help to enhance the information and highlight various learning points. As we go through the seminar material, there are also sections entitled “My HOUSE” – where participants are able to answer questions about what we just learned and apply this information to their own situation and life. 

I feel now God is leading me to enable many more to receive this information, so the seminar material is now in book form along with the cards and the “My HOUSE” sections so that someone (both men or women) can use it as a “study” to help them find God’s plan for their life. I pray each of you who read this book will be touched by God in a very special way and will have the knowledge and strength to find God’s plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
